Traditional ayurveda healing requires time, dedication and trust. For long term health healing is important discipline, continuity and patience. The intense healing and detox treatments should take at least 21 days (ideally 28 days), but many resorts in their effort to balance their ayurveda programmes with fast modern lifestyle are offering shorter 14 or 7 days stays. The short term stays should be combined with long term health ayurveda programmes or supplement them.

The true history of ayurveda starts in the time of the ancient scripts Vedas. The mythology tells us that the gods through meditating rishis in Himalayas transmitted the knowledge of ayurveda to humankind.

Their message is still alive in medical writings called the Charaka Samhita. Charaka is a term for a wandering scholars, who were constantly traveling, teaching and healing. According to sacred texts, Himalayas was a place where they have been coming to meditate and heal for thousands of years. The sages realized that sickness was a major impediment to the search for liberation, and many of them became physician, Vaidyas. Their wisdom can be found deep in the silent mountains.
