Can there be a royal way to deep healing? We believe, it can. Kalari Kovilakom is the Palace for Ayurveda, perhaps the first and only one of its kind, located near Kollangode in the Palghat District of North Kerala, fringed on one side by the majestic Western Ghat mountain ranges. Kalari Kovilakom the 200 year old palace, is where history meets natural tranquillity, combining the ancient healing experience with the grace and scale of palace living. It has been restored and recreated into a unique ayurveda hospital with the most authentic form of ayurveda programs and treatments, which are combination of physical, mental and spiritual therapies, well complimented and supported by yoga and meditation practices. It is not a holiday resort but a place to immerse you in a life style that was advocated by ancient Indian traditions.

ayurveda Resort If the old legends are to be believed, healing is part of Kalari Kovilakom’s soul. Stories are told of a Prince Dharmavarman who came to the foothills of Kerala's Annamalai Hills around the 10th century. He came to cure himself in the healing spring waters of this land and sought the medicinal Venga tree that grew here in profusion. He stayed on to found a kingdom, Vengunad, The Land of the Venga Tree. And for all the days to come, his descendants held sway over these silent and green foothills. It was in the 19th century that they built Kalari Kovilakom, which became the iconic Ayurveda Palace.
